WMAR-TV is a television station in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, affiliated with ABC and owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. The station's studios and offices are located on York Road in Towson, north of the Baltimore City/Baltimore County border. Its transmitter and antenna, which are on the famous three-pronged candelabra broadcast tower, are located on Television Hill in the Woodberry neighborhood of Baltimore.
Syndicated programs watched on WMAR-TV include Rachael Ray, Right This Minute, The Drew Barrymore Show, and The Doctors. As a subsidiary of ABC, WMAR-TV usually now handles the entire network program. The station was the home of Baltimore to The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon for nearly three decades, until it moved to WNUV-TV (Channel 54); in 2013, the telethon returned to WMAR-TV, broadcasting on ABC as a two-hour program titled MDA Show of Strength for the last two years of its operation.
As an affiliate of CBS, WMAR-TV took the hour off the daily schedule on weekdays as well as CBS late night programs. However, this was not a problem for viewers in the Baltimore area as most of the area received decent signal from WTOP-TV in Washington (now WUSA).
